Impeachment Trial Against Chief Justice Renato Corona (Part 2)

Impeachment trial of Corona started last January 16, Monday, of this year. It was the second impeachment trial of the history since Ombudsman Gutierrez resigned prior to the trial It's about the questioned property of Corona. He owned at least 45 condominiums and houses. They just wanted corona to explain how he was able to acquire that huge number of properties and he didn't have pork barrel. Before this impeachment trial begin, some of the senators have their own way in preparing themselves for a long hour of trials.

On the first day of trial, Corona stated on a speech that "there is no turning back" on the impeachment trial. He said that he did  not do anything wrong against the president or the people, that he did not steal from anyone, that the 45 properties were owned by his wife and in-laws. He also denied that the World Bank loan were on his responsibilty. He also said that there were people who are acting a conspiracy to remove him from office; those who wants to prevent the distribution of Hacienda Luisita, owned by the family of P-Noy, to the farmer-beneficiaries. The trial started at 2:00pm headed by the senate President Juan Ponce Enrile.

March 01, 2012, Senate suspended the trial to  give both the prosecution and defense panels time to complete the process of offering and scrutinizing the evidence that has been presented so far.

Hope this impeachment trial would end up good result pleasing to the side of people. Hope that justice will rise. GBU!!!

Impeachment Trial Against Chief Justice Renato Corona (Part 1)

Before former president Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo stepped down from her position, she hired chief justice Corona as the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court. It was days after the 2010 presidential election. It was under a Midnight appointment that is questioned by everybody especially those against her. He was impeached on Dec. of 2011. He was the third official to be impeached by the House of Representatives after Former President Joseph Estrada and Ombudsman Merceditas Gutierrez.

Committee on Justice chairman Niel Tupas, Jr. presented the impeachment complaint; after the presentation, only two representatives asked for more questions, while an overwhelming majority asked to sign the complaint. He said that there were no instructions from the Palace to impeach Corona, nor was the pork barrel of representatives who did not sign would be held back, but he said that he informed the president of their decision to impeach Corona, and that the president supported it. The House of Representatives then voted in session to endorse the complaint, getting 188 votes, well above the one-third (95) of the members required by the constitution.

The Senate received the articles of impeachment on December 13. Tupas and Reynaldo Umali delivered the articles of impeachment, with Tupas saying that the process was not railroaded. Employees of the judiciary staged a court holiday on December 13 in support of Corona; this meant many courts were closed. In a speech delivered in front of Supreme Court employees, Corona branded Aquino as building a dictatorship, stated that he will not quit, and that his conviction will result in Aquino controlling all three branches of government The Executive replied via Executive Secretary Edwin Lacierda that it not out to control all branches of government but wanted a independent Supreme Court, told Corona to go on a leave on absence, and that the impeachment is "not an attack on the judiciary. This is a case of accountability against Chief Justice Corona." ...

2012(End Of The World)

It's been said that 2012 is the end of the world. There's been a movie showing how the end of the world looks like. It showed like it was on the time of  Noah that only few left. Before this year 2012 came, some people say that the world is about to end that's why we have to do things right away that we want to do so it won't be too late to do it. Upon hearing this, I wonder if it is true. There's one time a group of people from foreign country came over here in the Philippines to tell us that the end of the world is about to come. With that, I felt nothing. I don't believe them at all. Since for me, who are they to say that the world would end?! They are not GOD.

In my own opinion as influenced by what my mother told me when we once talk about what they say "end of the world, There's no such thing as end of the world. The world will never end. It's just that it was people who will end. The calamities that is happening to any part of the world, it's God's way of washing people out of the world. Many people died during the attacked of calamities. Whatever we do if it's God's wants to wash us out, we can do nothing but to accept His will. One of my classmate told me that she believes in end of the world since it is said in the Bible. There were signs stated there which are happening now like the calamities and disasters all over the world, the bearing of the fruit of the tree, I don't what it's name, but it was said in the bible that if it bear fruits, it's the time god will come back and end of the world will happen.

With those opinions, I come into a thought. If God wants to end what He created, then, He can since His will is His command. He can do anything He want since everything in the world and universe are owned by him. All we can do is to be faithful to Him and pray everyday. I lift up to God and I'm ready to face what will happen soon. GOD bless!

New Year's Resolution

February is almost over. Few more days, March will come. It just means that we almost had three months in starting our new life. This new life of us corresponded with our new year's resolution. These new year's resolutions of ours guide us in every step we take. It helps us to do better. It serves as our reminder that we have to do things better. New year's resolution, for me, is our plan for the purpose of getting our lives better than the past year. It's also became a way of doing things we never did before.

For me, we can have new year's resolution even if we are in the first quarter of the year. Making resolutions now is not yet late. Me, I have a list of resolutions for this year. I don't close it. Meaning, it is open for a new resolution which may I think for the coming days. I add and add resolutions as long as it was interesting and it can do me good. Now, I already have few. You may see that it was so simple but for me, it's a fulfillment if I can do all of these. Making new year's resolution is so easy. What makes it difficult is that us being lazy or lack of courage to do these. We just depend on the thought that we have the next time to do it. I have experienced it last year. I never fulfill my resolution. With that, I felt I am a failure. Now, that another year is given to me, I'll take this chance to do what I haven't fulfill before.

List of my 2012 Resolution

1.Go to church every Sunday......this became my first since for me, it should God be in the first. No one and nothing should and could take His place. It is because I sometimes missed the Holy Mass on Sunday since I do my school works on that day and I hang out with friends during Saturdays. It was just for sometimes but still, I realized that God only asked for an hour, yet, I didn't make it. So far, I only had one absent for the Holy Mass on Sunday. It was because, I have fever that time.

2. Make my parents always happy.....this is because, everything I do is for my parents. I want to make them happy always. I know this is impossible since not all time we can do good. But, I will try my best to make them proud of me. Seeing them smile and laugh is a fulfillment for me.

3.. Save money. Stop getting money on savings. .....every year, I have savings. I open it every end of the year. Still, I felt unsatisfied with my savings since I always get money from it whenever I ran out of money. I add and take which is, for me, not a healthy habit. So now, I put my savings on a Bamboo bank instead of piggy bank. For me, I will never be tempted to open it since I have to broke the bamboo part to get the money. I put coins which I left and reserved from my allowance. Also, whenever my parents asked me to buy in the store, the change will be going to my "bamboo bank". Hehehe. Anyway, they understand. :)

4. Never be thrifty when it comes to food....last year, I preferred to get hungry than to buy foods. That's why, I didn't get chubby as I want. This year, I want to get chubby. I don't want to stay thin and skinny. That's why I spoil myself to buy foods I want to eat so that I will achieve the body size I want for a long time. Still, I have to limit myself for the price of the food. Hehehe. Remember, I have to save money.

5. Have enough patience.....honestly, I have short patience. I easily got mad when things are not supposed to be what I want. Now, I am practicing to be more patient. Hehehe.

That's all on my list. Still, I am thinking of best resolutions. For now, I hope I could make all those listed above. Hope God will guide me in fulfilling it. God bless you!!!

New Year Celebration

After attending Mass as a welcome of New Year, we had a simple dinner in our house and after that, we slept. We found difficulties in sleeping because of the noise outside for welcoming the new year. Some drove their motor vehicles  loud sounds with part of roofs or cans tied on it. Our neighbor turn his chainsaw to produce noise. Some were busy making sounds through their fireworks. Also, there are children caroling every houses. I must say, that was the noisiest day of the year. Hehehe. Making noise is what we believed could take aways bad lucks. It was just a belief of ours.

After few minutes, about an hour of noise, we could go back to sleep finally. I woke up early in the morning to prepare food again for our breakfast. I also helped my father preparing for the head portion of the pig we slaughtered for lechon. After breakfast, we were still busy again for foods. Whoa. Before lunchtime, Papa's friends came into our house, also ate's best friend came, to had lunch with us. Simple foods for simple people. After the lunch, after a while, me, ate and her best friend agreed to go to Danao Park to relax and have some fresh air. We brought my camera with us and took pictures in any places we want and in any position we did. We went to Hanging bridge which is new to us. It was just not more than 10 meters length, I think. Also, we climbed to a blue rope, don't know what to call it and take some pose there. We also climbed on a tree. This is when I received my first blessing for that year, bees bite. As we climbed to the tree, I saw the house. I'm not aware that it was bees'. I thought it was black ants' so no worries. We pose and pose there. As we finished taking pictures, when I am about to climbed down the tree, an insect bit me. When I look at it. It was bee. Then another bite again. Whoa. That was really hurt. I almost cried. I ran and ran away from the tree, also my ate's best friend. I got four bites; one in my shoulder, arm, finger and bicep. My ate's Bf got only one bite which was in her right eyebrow. As we went home, we just laughed what had happen. It hurts but a while, we found it funny. I laughed at myself since it was new year and I was being biten by bees. Hehehe. I could consider it as an unforgettable moment and a great experience. I never regret I was biten since entirely, i had fun. I am happy. No need to be worry. Those bites would be healed and fade but the memories, NEVER.

Rizal Day

December 31 is an official holiday. It is our way of giving importance for what our National Hero, Dr. Jose Rizal, did for our country against the Spaniards.It is the when Rizal was executed at Bagumbayan, now the Rizal Park.

Rizal fought the Spaniards without causing blood to diminished. He fought Spaniards through writing novels like Noli Me Tangere and El Filibusterismo which exposed the arrogance and depotism of Spaniard Clergy and officials. These led him and his relatives to be in trouble. Spaniards didn't stop finding fault against them. He was imprisoned in Fort Santiago for few days on a charge of anti-friar for pamphlets were found at the luggage of her sister during their arrival from Hong Kong. While He was in Dapitan, he engaged into agriculture, fishing and business. He also taught Filipino children on English and Spanish language. He was being exiled to the island of Mindanao and during that time, Filipino revolt broke out and he was accused to be the one who inspired it. After a series of trials, he was convicted of rebellion, sedition, and of forming illegal associations. December 30, early morning, Rizal was shot at Bagumbayan field.

The heroic did of Rizal is still being commemorated until now. He still considers as number one among Philippine National Hero. He was being idolized by his intelligence, courage, loyalty and bravery. I salute you Dr. Jose Rizal.
